‘I PRAY TO GOD FOR A BOY’ – TERRY G CONFIRMS HE’S EXPECTING A BABY
It’s coming almost a year late, but Terry G has finally vindicated us, by confirming the identity of his better half.
The weird hit-maker has not only identified his long time partner as Mimi – the same lady we reported he was involved with, and engaged to, last year; he has also informed us they’re expecting their first baby – and he’s ‘happy’ about it.
A few days ago, the news about Mimi surfaced on blogs, with many reporting that Terry G‘s fiancee was six months pregnant.
‘It’s true‘, the Akpako Master simply replied when we asked him.
On September 5, 2011, newsmen reported exclusively that the lovebirds traveled to Benin with few friends and family members, for a traditional marriage ceremony that caught Terry’s friends by surprise.
And when we asked if the couple already know the child’s sex, Terry said ‘We don’t know yet but I pray to God for a boy‘.
The TGP Entertainment boss has been releasing a series of singles as he gears up to drop his anticipated ‘Lucifa’ mixtape.
Knack me Akpako: Angry Fans Beat Up Terry G In Benin
Gabriel Oche Amanyi aka Terry G is presently nursing the wounds he sustained from his fans in Benin, Edo State last Sunday, December 18, 2011.
The self acclaimed Lucifer performed at the Star Lager Beer Show held last Sunday where he saw the other side of his fans.
NEWSMEN gathered that Terry G was begged to perform more of his songs after he did two of his new songs on stage, but he refused and rushed back to the backstage where other artistes were relaxing.
After so many pleas from the organizers of the show, Terry G remained adamant and before the twinkle of an eye, some angry fans went backstage, punched and bruised him severally before he was thrown back on stage.
‘He thinks he can come to Benin and mess with us, he can only do that for them in Lagos and go scot free.
We don’t take shits here, he was paid over a million naira and he performed 2 songs from his CD and not a live band. We won’t take that from him’, one of the fans fumed.
We learnt the show was nearly disrupted by Terry G’s attitude, but it was eventually put in order by security operatives who later guarded the Ginjah Ur Swagga master off stage and led him back to his hotel room, with only his boxers short on his body.
TERRY G DENIES INVOLVEMENT IN PUBLIC SHOW OF SHAME
Controversial singer and Ginger Your Swagger crooner,Terry G has carpeted the claim that he fought in a guest house.
He also denied the allegation of penury and sniffing cocaine.
In a telephone chat,he had this to say; That is a bloody lie! Why will I fight in a guest house.I don’t even patronize guest houses.
I rather go to a club or a hotel.That story is not true
When probed further on his financial status and the allegation of sniffing cocaine,he quickly responded;
I have admitted several times that I smoke but not marijuana and I don’t sniff cocaine.Everything they said is not true.I am a responsible human being,people just fabricate things about me.I have not gone begging,so I am not broke.
News was all over town a couple of weeks back that the Benue State born singer fought at a guest house in Iju-Ishaga,where he unwinds.
It was also alleged that Terry G couldn’t pay his bills after taking some bottles of drinks.
Palaver broke out between Mama T,the owner of the guest house and Terry G because he didn’t pay his bill.Insisting he must pay before leaving as she began to throw tantrums adding that she was tired of Terry G’s nuisance and inability to pick his bills.
We were further told that Terry G’s inability to pay his bill may not be unconnected with his penchant for sniffing cocaine and smoking marijuana.This new found habit may have affected his pocket drastically.
However,he denied all these allegations,he denied them,saying they were just fabrication from his detractors and those who are not wishing him well.
DANNY YOUNG BEATS TERRY G TO ‘ELI JAH’ VIDEO
Singer/producer Terry G might have beaten Danny Young to releasing the controversial ‘Eli Jah‘ or ‘Jai Halo‘ some months back but Young who accused the ‘akpako master’ of stealing his song has gone ahead not just only to release his but also the video.
Both songs which take their concept from the religious angles with a lot of references to celestial bodies.
Causes a small rift between both parties but have simmered down.
However, Young has gone on to release the video to his own version. Quite an interesting watch.
TERRY G WEDS SECRETLY
The singer-producer-performer is so many different things to different people: mad man, beat jacker, song stealer, swagger king, akpako master, or restless hitmaker. Now, he’s soon going to be a husband to someone – and he’s kicked off the process already.
Terry G, whose real names are Gabriel Amanyi and his long time partner Mimi are taking their relationship further, after years of dating.
Terry we’re told, has already overhauled his Lagos home (a three-bedroom apartment in Iju), putting everything in place for the comfort of his wife-to-be. And last month, the pair traveled to Benin with few friends and family members, for a traditional marriage ceremony that caught Terry’s friends by surprise. ’I was shocked when I heard‘ one very close friend tells us. Says another ‘I heard from a mutual friend and I later visited him to find out. I’m happy for both of them‘.
Terry’s bride Mimi is a Lagos-based ‘big girl’ (exact words of those who know her) whose mom lives in Benin. We’re told her father is late. She’s the couple’s only child and, according to our findings, the main beneficiary of their wealth.
Although Terry’s background is different- having not being born into privilege- he’s by no means a gold-digger. The 25 year-old has worked his way to where he’s at; and he’s earned enough to belong to the millionaires’ club. He told friends last year he prefers his partner even after a couple of on-and-offs. One key advantage: she doesn’t play in the entertainment field and is away from all the ‘magic and the madness’ that come with her hubby’s job.
‘She’s a great girl. She was there with him and for him when he had that accident. I believe they’ll make a great couple. I think she’s the stability that Gabriel needs‘, a source, who claims the pair already have both parents’ blessings, tells us.
Speaking with Don T a director at Now Muzik, Terry’s management company, he confirmed that the singer indeed has a fiancée. ‘Yes, his fiancées name is Mimi and we are hoping they get married soon‘, Don T told our reporter in a telephone conversation. But he (Don T) played down the news of Terry’s traditional marriage saying that the singer only travelled to Benin to shoot two videos.
And speaking on his house in Iju, he explained ‘Terry has almost finished his house in Iju, it’s still developing but will be completed soon‘, Don T added. No word yet on a proper wedding date.
He recently released his third album ‘Terry Gzuz‘ under his TGP Entertainment label.
Terry G, Danny Young @ war!
An all out war looms between Terry G and fast rising singer Danny Young as the Ginger ur Swagger crooner battles to keep his name slate clean of another piracy allegation that accuses him of infringing on a colleague’s intellectual property.
Danny Young in a press statement is alleging that Terry G has robbed him of the concept of his song.
According to Danny Young, the song which he originally titled Elijah was given to Terry G in the presence of another rising hip-hop act weeks back in attendance to voice his part to the song, a development he (Terry G) promised to do.
After waiting for several weeks, Danny Young’s management claim they put a call through to Terry G to find out why it was taking so long for him voice his part of the song, only to discover that Terry G had released the song on Notjustok a music downloading site on Saturday, July 7, 2011.
Angry at the betrayal, Danny Young who was away to the Netherlands went back to the studio and re-mixed the song and took several swipes at the Swagger crooner calling him an intellectual robber on the second verse of the song without mentioning any name.
According to the Danny, ‘Terry G’s new song, Jah Hailo was originally my song and idea. I sent a data of the song to him (Terry G) and never heard from him afterwards.
Few days back, I was alerted by my management while I was out of the country that Terry G has released the song on the internet. However, I’m armed with relevant facts to the outright ownership of the beat and some lines in the song”.
At the moment, both Danny Young and his record label are insisting that Terry G is armed with a song that is not his.
Neither Terry G, or his publicist would comment on the issue, but his mnager of many years, Don T said “I have called Danny Young to my office and listened to both versions.
What I found out was that both artistes have different titles for their songs. While Terry’s is titled Jah Hailo, Danny’s version is titled Eli Jah. Both versions are also different in terms of genre.
Terry’s version tilts towards the celestial church’s style while Danny’s version is more of R & B. I don’t see any resemblance between the two songs. However, I think both songs are great songs and can fly on their own”
On Terry G’s reaction to Danny’s accusation, Don T said “Terry feels very bad but there’s nothing anyone can do about it. If we take a step concerning the issue, it means that we’re helping Danny to climb on the wings of Terry’s fame and we won’t do him that favour.
We will allow fans to judge by listening to the two songs and see whether they are the same or not. This is just a distraction and it will pass”
It will be recalled that this is not the first time that Terry G will be feasting on fellow artistes’ songs. His hit song Free Madness, was allegedly originally produced for an upcoming artiste like AY Zee. He’s also had issues with Ditty Black and Side One.
