LOVE GONE SOUR !! THE UNTOLD STORY OF GENEVIEVE AND D'BANJ

She needs little or no introduction in Nollywood. The Queen of Nollywood,Genevieve Nnaji is a hot thespian, not just because of her talent but also for her exceptional acting prowess.

Genny as she is popularly called is one of the thespians who came on the scene over a decade ago and became popular with her good mastery of the craft which was evident in her sound delivery of movies roles.

She has been courting controversies since her emergence in the movie industry, but has remained unperturbed about uncomplimentary remarks flying around her.

Despite the fact that Miss Nnaji has been romantically linked with so many men in the past, she has been trying so hard lately to shield her love life from prying eyes of the media because of the humiliation she suffers in her last relationship.

Last year,Genny was rumoured to be in a sizzling relationship with popular hip-hop star, Dapo Oyebanjo a.k.a D’banj and everyone thought it was altar-bound until the devil reared its ugly head and the whole affair collapsed like a pack of badly arranged cards.

One of the reasons for their break-up is the story of how Genevieve was given the embarrassment of her life by a London based Nigeria babe days before her last birthday.

It would be recall that D’banj and the Mo’hit crew treated Genevieve to a surprise birthday bash in London last year.

We learnt D’banj had earlier hooked up with Genevieve at a hotel and later in the day, took her to a departmental store to shop for a befitting birthday outfit.

According to sources,D’banj over the years he lived in London, has a serious girlfriend.Interestingly,D’banj girl and the girlfriend of his partners Don Jazzy are pals.

While the story was on in Nigeria that D’banj was in romance with Genevieve, the star musician we hear, was denying the fact and telling his London based babe that the story about him and Genevieve was contrived by the Nigerian media and that outside appearing in his video, she was just an acquaintance in the industry.

Nemesis however caught up with D’banj when he took Genevieve to the shop.

We gathered that Don Jazzy also took his own babe on the trip.Insiders say Don Jazzy’s babe must have used her Black Berry to contact the girl who arrived the shop in a fury. What happened next was a blur as she allegedly attacked Genevieve and almost stripped her bare.

We were told that D’banj had to buy another dress for the actress to wear back to her hotel room.

This occurrence is said to be the reason they parted.

HOW GENEVIEVE NNAJI WOES BACK IN THE DAYS TURNS TO BLESSING NOW

Genevieve Nnaji is one of the most respected actresses in Nollywood, with excellent interpretation of characters in movies.

She is one actress every good director would want to work with. Pretty and unpretentiously friendly,Genny, as this acting queen is fondly called, is one Nollywood personality who has worked herself to a level where she gets the sort of adulation that stars in Hollywood get.

Beyond movie, what many people don’t know is the many challenges she has been through in life.

At the tender age of 17,the talented thespian that Oprah Winfrey named Nigeria's Julia Roberts, had a daughter as a result of a fling with her teacher in secondary school. But she moved on,utilized her God given talents and today, she is the most recognized actress in Africa.

She is even happy to tell anyone that cares that she loves her daughter so much and that she is all she lives for.

In an interview she granted years back, she narrated her ordeal thus, I’m sure everywoman knows the feeling of pregnancy, but for the young girl – it is difficult for me to say now, because I have grown much older – but I know at that time it was, let me see... Anyway, I’d just wake up every morning hoping to wake up from a dream... but you know it doesn’t happen so. It’s more like giving me hope that ‘no, it wasn’t...’ I was like looking forward to sleeping and waking up, then it wasn’t getting any better anyway.

Getting rid of the pregnancy was an alternative then, but it was too late, because not until I was four months before we discovered it and so it was not what we could do, and my dad was like, ‘it’s a child for Christ’s sake. God knows why he wants to bring that child into life”. We are Catholics and it’s just that conscience, you do wrong once and doing another would not make the first right. So, you either correct your mistake by doing the right thing. If I was pregnant, and then have an abortion, it would have been like murder after fornication! So, that was basically wrong. She said

From the look of things, the reality of this costly mistake she make back then seems to be blessings in disguise now that she seems to be finding right men for marriage elusive.

But that doesn't bother her one bit because she has 15 year old daughter that is source of her joy, happiness, and fulfillment. This helps less pressure to get married.

According a close pal to Genny who pleaded anonymity, Genny knows how tricky men could be, so she's taking her time to choose Mr. right among the many men asking for her hand in marriage.

The nature of her job as an actress is cumbersome,it entails moving from one location, country to another.Only a man with a good heart would take that in marriage. And she’s just at the starting point of her career. She needs a man that would be a silent reflection of her strength and a supporter of her dreams and goals not a dream killer.

The minute she settle for less, this will only take her to despair.

Apart from that, men her scared of her achievement and high profiles lifestyles. this makes it pretty difficult for her rushing into a marriage.

Even though she once admitted she’s tired of spinsterhood, that’s not a yardstick for settling down

That brings me to the interview she granted months back,Genevieve said; I’m 32, I’ve been busy for 12 years and I’m still busy.

My parents have other children to focus on. I'm only one out of eight. For me if marriage comes, fine. It's not a priority. It's never been, but it a good thing every woman wants. So, I'm not shying away from it. But then, I'm going to go in with my head straight. I will go into marriage for the right reasons. Not for money, not for fame, not for name and not to satisfy the world. I don't want any sort of peer pressure getting involved in my settling down, or trying to prove a point that I can settle down. I don't need that. I'm here to please my God and myself, and as long as my parents have no issues with it, I'm fine. When I find the right person, I'm sure I'll settle down.

First of all I have to agree within myself that I actually want to get married. I think my life is already chaotic as it is being one celebrity.

I don’t find marriage repulsive but everyday I learn from married people about what not to do when it comes to marriage. I think I’ve just learnt the bad things about marriage before the good ones.

There is constant discouragement but I just know for a fact that when I find the right person I will definitely not think about it. Marriage should be about finding the right person, finding your soul mate, not necessarily in receiving love.

I think she said it all. She has developed and established a very successful career in the movie world, got a lovely daughter and other good things of life. What else could she want?

Ceteris paribus; "all other things being equal”let’s hope that the wedding bells will soon be ringing.

GENEVIEVE NNAJI AND OMOTOLA RIFT TAKES A NEW DIMENSION

The long face-off between the two beautiful and delectable actresses never seemed to end as both don't see eye to eye.

It should be recalled that Genevieve Nnaji and Omotola Jalade-Ekeinde have been at loggerheads for some time now over seniority in the make believe business.

The age-long feud played out during the production of Chineze Anyaene’s multiple award winning movie, “Ïje: The Journey.”

The silent rivalry,we gathered nearly ruined the production of the big budget movie.

According to source, while the movie was being shot in Los-Angeles, it was a running battle to get the two heavy-weight actresses to work as a team.

In fact, according to sources close to the producer of the movie, except for the ceaseless intervention of the cast and crew of the production, none of the two actresses was ready to play a second fiddle to each other.

“At a point, we stopped shooting because they wouldn’t submit to each other. Chineze had a tough time trying to appeal to them to show understanding by returning to the set. Omotola wouldn’t want to play supporting role to Genevieve. And that was the battle we faced during the production of the movie.” our sources hinted.

In the movie however, Genevieve played the role of Chioma, the lead character, while Omotola played that of Anya, her sister.

In a recent interview,Omotola was asked how she cope with rivalry within the industry;she said In life, people have people they get along with. You may just not get along with your contemporaries. Its the fact of life.Personally,I am not very close to so many people not because of work or rivalry, but because I am just removed from the everyday life they live.

STAR ACTRESS GENEVIEVE NNAJI REVEALS SUCCESS SECRETS

There is so much going on for star actress,Genevieve Nnaji.Apart from having numerous awards under her belt, this year proved to be exceptional.

She was the top female artist that made 10 most influential African artistes, won an award at the prestigious Monaco Film Festival, and won the Best Actress at the ZAFAA Award,in London.

Recently, she was awarded the Nigeria National Honour of Member of the Order of the Federal Republic (MFR).

The adorable, indubitable and glamorous Nnaji is considered one of the hottest actresses on the Nollywood scene. Genevieve is not new to awards, mentions and recognitions both at home and abroad.

She may perhaps have won more quality awards than any other actress of her generation with the most recent being the Best Actress in a TV Series/Game Show at the Nigerian Entertainment Award (NEA) held in New York.

The disarmingly humble actress of vast credit and AMAA 2006 best actress in a leading role, earned that diadem for her sterling performance as host of the celebrity edition of the popular Guilder Ultimate Search reality game show. Genny as she is simply called, proved, with her hosting of that show, that she could also be relied upon as a good show host. It was also in 2010 that she put up a terrific performance in Chineze Anyaene’s brilliant telling Ije. Genny played Chioma and played it well.

A diva by all standards, Nnaji, star of Mahmood Ali Balogun’s big budget flick Tango With Me, clearly leads on the list of acting celebrities with the most award nominations, winnings and endorsement deals.

Genny got the icing on her career cake when she was named by the talk show diva, Oprah Winfrey, as one of the most famous people in the world. Even Oprah Winfrey, sources say, has applauded the Federal Government decision to honour the single mother of one with a national honour.

In a recent interview, the 31 year old glamorous actress opens up on her winning ways and the national award alongside other international laurels.

National award means recognition for what we are doing, and it feels so good to be recognized for doing what you love doing. It also means appreciation of the industry, not just Genevieve.

It means gradually we are being recognized by the Federal Government, this has been long overdue, that Nollywood should also be accorded the well deserved recognition for what it’s doing for the country.

As an industry in Nigeria,we have represented the country well in the international arena. So,it encouraging.

It’s really something that will show that Nollywood has come of age and the federal government has championed their cause.

Asked, what are your winning strategies;she said, God.To be honest,I don’t know my winning strategies,I would just say it’s been God.To tell you I have any winning strategies,I don’t even know where to start from because I can’t list this and that as steps I would take to win.If I had a winning strategy,I would sell it.

The truth of the matter is that for anybody to want to be like Genevieve, she must understand what Genevieve is made of.I am one person that is very determined.I follow my heart,I do not follow friends and I don’t believe in impossibilities.

I believe in following my heart as I said. So,it’s very important you listen to yourself.Don’t copy anybody or pretend to be somebody else.

I believe that everybody has different stuffs they can be good at,all they need to do is listen to themselves and discover what they can be good at.

This is the best way for an individual to discover yourself.

Genevieve Debunks Movie Role With Angelina Jolie

Genevieve Nnaji is one Nollywood actresses that has through her talent become one of Nigeria and Africa’s prides.

Coming through into the play-acting world at the early age of eight, when she acted in a TV soap, Ripples, Genny, as she is fondly called, has grown to be one of the best in the business.

Not too long ago, this make-believe goddess lost a movie role to Hollywood actress, Naomi Harris, in a movie titled, Bond Girl. This move was seen as a step forward in our actors breaking into Nollywood.

Just after the news of the lost movie role broke in Nigeria, there was another news that she has been slated to star alongside top Hollywood dive, Angelina Jolie. As usual, this was greeted among Nigerians as good news.

But recently, when the Queen of the Nollywood industry in Nigeria, Genny, was asked what the movie title would be and also when she would be on set for the movie, she simply answered, ‘there is no movie role with Jolie, my dear.’

For those who have been waiting to see Genny acting alongside Jolie, a former world’s s*xiest woman, maybe they would have to wait for another real opportunity to come her way. But for now, Genny has debunks such rumour.

Dapo Daniel Oyebanjo (popularly known as D'banj, born June 9, 1980), is a Nigerian singer-songwriter and harmonica player. He has won several music awards including the awards for Best African Act at the MTV Europe Music Awards 2007, Artist of the Year at the MTV Africa Music Awards 2009 and BET Awards of 2011 for Best International Act; Africa.

In the past,D’banj had been linked romantically with a couple of ladies including screen Goddess Genevieve Nnaji. In a recent interview with the Vanguard,D’banj opens up on his relationship with Genevieve Nnaji and also talked about his ideal woman and why he can’t find a wife.

I think Genevieve is a stunner I could date or love her. But we didn’t date. She’s my friend and a star you know. We’re close and we both understand that things couldn’t work out. Asked on plans of getting married he said; To find a lady that really likes one genuinely makes me paranoid. Of late, I dated a lady called Dana and she doesn’t even know that I’m a musician. I told her I’m a businessman.

She’s based in America and I like it. Is it wrong? Even if I date a foreigner, I still have to come back home. It’s really hard to find because how will I know she likes me genuinely? My mother said I should go to Bishop Oyedepo’s Church, Living Faith to find a wife. Haba D’banj you no try for Genevieve at all. Why the denial. What about the lovey dovey you two were playing at the PSQUARE’S birthday bash months back.

You even went as far to graced her birthday party held in London early this year not minding your busy schedule. Now you dey denie your once upon a time lover? Na wa o. Other Nollywood artistes that fell prey to his trap in the past were Empress Njamah,Ini Edo,Rukky Sanda,Mercy Johnson, and Amina Abubakar daughter to former vice president of Nigeria Alhaji Atiku Abubakar
