Jim Iyke Admits His PR Created His Bad Boy Image But He Eventually Lost Control Of It

 Actor, Jim Iyke in a new interview, admitted that the controversies that usually trail him, were simply a creation of his public relations managers at a time. They did pay off initially but eventually spiraled out of control. 

I’ve heard that I deem myself something of a puppeteer and that I orchestrate these media maelstroms to maintain relevance and news. I wish I was that creative! The other side of the debate – the more discerning would argue – I’m a victim of PR machinery gone wrong. Perhaps my handlers in the earlier stages of my career saw a need to create an unfathomable media being that was as audacious as the characters I played in films. It caught on. Caused quite a stir, then quickly spiraled out of control.

There were days when I wondered if I could have done something about it; like a campaign to state I was a different person. But then, the media loved it too much. It sold millions of movies. It sold papers. It also sold my privacy and peace of mind. I struggled for years to understand what it was doing to my psyche, my relationships, my family, my spirituality. 

On why he has been somewhat out-of-touch with Nollywood of late, Jim says he is simply seeking for new challenges. He says of Nollywood:

“Nothing was challenging anymore. It was too easy and too perpetual. It was too boring and too predictable. I had no room to pursue or hone other skill sets I had. I didn’t have time for extra curriculums like hobbies, family, and friends, personal and social advancements. Something had to give! After all, I was the guy that made 38 films in a year,” he boasts.

Asked about the current status of his relationship with boo, Nadia Buari, Jim waxed philosophical, saying:

“She (Nadia) is a solid down-to-earth woman. I’m a man that translates variables in ways many people find incomprehensible. We have embraced who we are and learnt to create our own world and expectations.

 We have ups and downs like every other couple. We have our strength and weakness as well. At the end of the day, rumours of break ups and make ups ought to abound. It really doesn’t matter. A relationship is a continuous work. Those that give up, perhaps weren’t committed enough. Those that go in for the long haul suck up and square up to the variables life throws at them.

 The people that judge harshly are obviously the ones that live far from their desired lives. We just live the best way we know how and leave the rest to the author and finisher of all things.” Source

Please, listen to Jim's audio, where he referred me as his senior brother and asked if I will ever support him marrying Keturah Hamilton. Keturah Hamilton started telling me Jim Iyke has been contacting her 5 months after they broke up. I never believed her.

I knew she was capable of anything. She likes publicity and gave my company every details of her day to day activities to publish in order to remain relevant. You all recall when we published a birthday party for her dog. Telling a guy you know so well started enjoying the limelight before you that he wants to get famous through you, I think it's the height of insults any artist can take from anybody.Those who think this was a publicity stunt, are simply ignorant and out of touch with reality. I have quietly been in the news since the 80's. If you think a young man of my age is old, it shows how some Nigerians are dream killers. I am a musician with media power. In showbiz, anything goes. No age limit to fight dirty .

Showbiz is like politics, no permanent friends but permanent interest. Keturah Hamilton is mad right now because her game plans were shattered. Jim Iyke maybe licking his wounds because Keturah let the cat out of the box. I pray Nadia Buari comes back to Jim Iyke. There's no perfect relationship or union. What has happened is a teachable moment. We all live to learn. 

All we are saying, Jim Iyke who is almost 39-years old, the only son of two wonderful parents, must settle down now. I hail from the heartland of Africa where we admonish the younger ones when they go astray. Life is too precious to waste. We will act when we deem fit. He can keep on ranting for now,” he said.

I never believed Keturah that Jim was  in her house until she showed me a proof. It became very apparent that Jim iyke lied to both  Keturah Hamilton and Nadia Bauri. Nadia Bauri decided to pull the plug off their ever restless relationship.

Some hours ago, Jim called to insult me. Saying maybe I want to be famous. This writer started enjoying limelight, stardom and fame while Jim was maybe in Secondary School. He said I was the only man on earth he respected till today.

I have him on tape and will play it to my world audience by 8AM New York time, which should be 1PM Nigerian Time. I need everyone out there to  listen and  find out why Jim Iyke should be taken off the streets. The guy can never change. That deliverance by TB Joshua never worked. It was a fluke.

You made who relevant? I have done interviews with Omotola, Awilo, Ministers, senators, men and women with proven records. You local boy is telling me you are making me relevant?  Last week alone, I interviewed, Ibrahim Commassie, RTD Inspector General of Police , I also did interview with Prof Femi Mimiko, Vice Chancellor, AAU and also a member of the National Confab. Same goes with Dr. Rabi Ibrahim, Bilksu Majoro, lawyer and a well known activist, Aminu Mahmuid, General Mansur Dan Ali, to name but a few. Tomorrow, I will be interviewing Jerry Gana and Mr. Falana.  These are men and women with proven records dear James. Over half a million Nigerians living overseas tune in to listen to great interviews with great people. Your interview with me brought me no audience, no rating, no feedback. It  was zero. Your name makes my listeners to turn off their appliances. Who wants to listen to a thief and a criminal, I was trying aimlessly to rebrand his image?
