'Adele is bigger than me, how come nobody says anything about it'

She recently admitted to putting on 30lbs and now Lady Gaga has weighed in on the body image debate. In an interview with Stylist magazine the singer speaks out after hitting headlines because of her weight gain and asked why people didn't target British singer Adele.

Speaking to the magazine she said: 'Adele is bigger than me, how come nobody says anything about it? She’s so wonderful and I think her confidence is something I have to match. She has set the bar very high for a lot of women.'

Gaga, real name Stefani Germanotta, 26, explained how her mother had called her and asked her whether she had gained weight after pictures were published in magazines and online.

She said: ' I was acutely aware of some photos on the internet – my mum called me and was like, “Did you gain weight?” – everybody was telling me about it, and I didn’t really care. But when I heard it was on the news, where they talk about wars, the economy crashing and the election – I just thought, "This is f***ing ridiculous."'

She added: 'I mean, what kind of example is that to a young girl sitting at home? I thought, well I don’t really care if they think I’m fat, because, quite honestly, I did gain about 30 pounds.' The Born This Way singer was talking about her Body Revolution where she asks her fans to embrace their flaws whatever their shape.

Gaga told the magazine that her fans carry the message so she can focus on her music. While some critics may not like her larger shape her boyfriend Taylor Kinney is a big fan of her curves. The actor recently revealed that Gaga reminded him of his mother, in a good way. Speaking to The Sun, Taylor said: 'She works incredibly hard and is very strong and inspirational like mom, with a great work ethic.'

Adele Welcomes A Baby Boy

Reports say that the 24-year-old singer, Adele and partner Simon Konecki welcomed their child on Friday night. She is said to be ‘ecstatic’ by the baby boy’s arrival.A source was quoted as saying: “Adele and Simon are ecstatic at their new arrival.

“She was over the moon that they were expecting their first child together.”However, her spokesman has declined comments on the matter. He said of Friday night’s reported birth: “We are not releasing a statement at this time. No comment.”

You’d recall Adele announced her pregnancy back in June, writing on her official blog: “I’m delighted to announce that Simon and I are expecting our first child together.“I wanted you to hear the news direct from me; obviously we’re over the moon and very excited but please respect our privacy at this precious time. Yours always, Adele xx”

Adele and Simon started dating last summer and moved in together earlier this year. Simon also has a five-year-old daughter with his ex-wife Clary Fisher. She has said of Simon in the past: “He looks after me. I don’t think I’d have got through the recovery from surgery if not for him.”

If the reports are anything to go by, we should be expecting an official statement from Adele soon. She’s probably too excited with the baby’s arrival that she forgot she likes to break her news first. Congratulations!

Adele’s song wakes 7-year-old British girl from coma

“There is a fire burning in my heart reaching a fever pitch, it’s bringing me out of the dark” that is the lyrics of the song that snatched back 7- year-old Charlotte Neve from the grasps of death. Charlotte had suffered a brain hemorrhage while asleep in her mother’s bed. Leila Neve, 31, noticed something was wrong with her daughter because, she was not breathing properly.

On turning her over, she discovered Charlotte was cold and floppy. She called 999 and when they got to the hospital; doctors discovered that she’d had a massive 12.1mm aneurism on the main artery on the back of her brain. She was diagnosed with brain hemorrhage, caused by a problem she was born with.

She was transferred to Leeds hospital where she underwent two operations to stop the bleeding in her brain and placed under intensive care. Brain hemorrhage is extremely rare in 7 year-olds and usually occur in people in their 30s or older. Brain hemorrhage also known as cerebral hemorrhages, intracranial hemorrhages or intracerebral, can be caused by head trauma, untreated high blood pressure, abnormality in the blood vessel walls due to ageing, liver disease, brain tumour and blood or bleeding disorders.

It is a type of stroke caused by a bust brain artery, allowing blood to leak inside the brain. The sudden increase in pressure within the brain can cause damage to the brain cells surrounding the blood. If the amount of blood increases rapidly, it could lead to unconsciousness or death. Two days after the brain hemorrhage, Charlotte suffered a series of strokes and slipped into a coma fighting for her life, doctors did not expect her to survive.

Her mother was told to prepare for the worse. After lying comatose for a week, Leila was told to call family members and prepare for the final rites. Sorrowfully, Leila climbed into the hospital bed to give her daughter a last cuddle. While cuddling her, Adele’s hit single “Rolling in the deep” played on the hospital’s radio and Leila, recalling her daughter’s fondness for the tune, sang along and to the amazement of everyone, Charlotte smiled.

“ I couldn’t believe it. It was the first time she had reacted to anything since the hemorrhage. The nurses were astounded and told me to keep singing and she smiled again. The nurses said it was like I unlocked her and from that day she started getting better and better”, said the joyful mother. Though doctors said she would not be able to see or speak again, within a few days Charlotte was able to get out of her bed.

Several days later, she began talking. Two months on, and she amazed medics further by learning to walk again, regained a part of her sight, is back in school and even taking dance classes. Talking about her daughter’s miraculous recovery, Leila told reporters: She went back to school about two weeks ago for one hour a day and still has her occupation therapy and speech therapy, which is helping. ‘She’s gone back to dance class now where she does street, ballet and tap which she loves, although it really tires her out now.

‘Her older sister Megan has really helped Charlotte because when she was in hospital Charlotte had to cut her hair off because of all the wires - so Megan cut off hers too in support. ‘Music is a big part of her life - she loves music. She loves singing and dancing along to Adele, Katy Perry and Pink. So it shouldn’t surprise me that Adele was the song that woke her up.

She’s a miracle marvel.’ In honour to her Charlotte’s miraculous recovery, her family and friends set up a Facebook fundraiser group called ‘Lottie Lou’s get well wish’ to save up for some medical things she’d need in the future. A per centage of it will also go to The Sick Children’s trust. A documentation of her progress is posted on the group’s page showing Charlotte laughing and playing. Thanks to music and Adele, Charlotte now has a second lease on life and the eight time Grammy Award winner can add “Healer’ to her growing list of attributes

Adele Pregnant: Singer Expecting First Child

It's been a big year for Adele and life is about to get even more exciting as the singer announced that she and boyfriend Simon Konecki are expecting their first child together.

The 24-year-old British singer made the announcement on her website on Friday:

Im delighted to announce that Simon and I are expecting our first child together. I wanted you to hear the news direct from me, obviously we’re over the moon and very excited but please respect our privacy at this precious time. Yours always, Adele xx

The Grammy winner met Konecki, 36, last summer in the U.K. and have been dating ever since, but the singer first addressed their relationship in January 2012, in a blog post on her website, writing: "Everyone in our lives separately and together wish us nothing but the best, and vice versa."

Adele sets a new record with "21"

Multi-award winning singer Adele returned to number one in the albums chart with "21", overtaking David Bowie and Dire Straits for the number of weeks spent in the top spot, the UK's Official Albums Chart said on Sunday.

The Brit and Grammy award winner moved up two places in her 64th week in the albums chart with "21". During her career, she has notched up 23 weeks at number one, including one week for her debut album "19" and 22 weeks for "21". Bowie and Dire Straits both managed 22 weeks. Making way for Adele was Nicki Minaj with "Pink Friday - Roman Reloaded" which dropped one place to number two.

A new entrant at number three was Alabama Shakes with debut album "Boys & Girls". In the singles chart, pop starlet Carly Rae Jepsen kept teen sensation Justin Bieber at bay, holding on to number one with "Call Me Maybe".

The Canadian Idol contestant outsold her Canadian compatriot's single "Boyfriend" by two to one. Bieber, who had praised his rival on Twitter, had to settle for a new entrant at number two. American R'n'B singer Usher was another new entrant at number four with "Climax".

Adele is richest young singer

She created one of the best-selling albums of all time and has spent the past year being showered with awards and glory. And at the tender age of 23, superstar Adele has now seen her fortune swell to £20million – increasing by £14million in just 12 months.

The London-born singer has topped the Sunday Times Rich List of young British musicians following the success of her second album, 21, with its chart-topping tales of heartbreak and woe. She is not the only young female singer to make millions.

Her former schoolmate Jessie J makes her way on to the list, limited to those aged 30 and under, for the first time with a fortune of £5million. The 24-year-old went to the BRIT School in Croydon with Adele and X Factor winner Leona Lewis, whose fortune is valued at £12million.

Jessie J’s debut album, Who You Are, has sold nearly one million copies and she is now the standout star of BBC talent show The Voice, on which she is a coach.

Adele set to slim down even more as she embarks on new fitness plan

She lost weight a few months ago when she underwent surgery on her vocal chords.

But it appears Adele may lose even more weight after embarking on a new health plan.

Following her health problems last year, the singer is changing her lifestyle for health reasons instead of to lose weight.

After she was forced to quit smoking for the sake of her voice a few months ago, the 23-year-old singer is now on a health kick.

She's started working out with a personal trainer twice a week and take up pilates after TV presenter Alan Carr recommend it.

A source told The Sun: 'Adele has found so much more energy now she's quit smoking. She really wants to get healthier, now that she's half-way there.

'She had always been curious about taking up Pilates but until recently there just hadn't been any time.'

Who broke Adele's heart and made her a star?

The songs encapsulate the wrenching experience of having lost a great love — starting with anger and denial, and moving on through feelings of hurt and acceptance.

They are also probably the most lucrative expression of heartbreak ever recorded. Adele’s album, 21, has sold more than 17 million copies worldwide, netting her a £25 million fortune since its release last year. It remains No 1 in the U.S. charts after 22 weeks in the top slot, and has sold more than 4 million copies in the UK.

And, following the singer’s recent performances at the Grammys and the Brits, her record sales show no signs of slowing down — executives claim a copy of 21 is sold every two seconds.

But a tantalising mystery remains: just who was the man who broke Adele’s heart? She says she wrote the album over a three-month period at the start of 2010 after the relationship had ended. Yet while Adele, 23, has been happy to refer vaguely to the inspiration for the album, she has never actually named the person in question.

There are a few clues. She said last year: ‘We just fell out of love ... and I had to deal with the devastation of feeling like a failure because I couldn’t make things work.’

In another interview, she said: ‘He was a few years older than me. He made me feel alive ... and made me really passionate about food, wine, film, sociology, history and travelling. He opened my eyes to a lot of things.’

But was it really a great love? The affair must have happened between the release of her first album 19 in 2008, and the beginning of 2010 when she went into the studio to record 21 — both albums being named after her age at the time.

He was a few years older than me. He made me feel alive ... and made me really passionate about food, wine, film, sociology, history and travelling. He opened my eyes to a lot of things.

During that period, however, she has only been pictured with one possible suitor — a musician named Slinky Sunbeam — but she’s rubbished claims they dated. ‘Whoever this source is, they’re talking out of their ****. He ain’t my type,’ she wrote on her blog in 2008.

Given that Adele was fairly well-known by this point, had she been in a serious relationship, surely at least one photographer would have spotted the couple, say, going to the cinema?

And Adele has confused things further. In January 2008, she said she was single. A year later, she said she was still not with anyone and that she’d ‘had a relationship last summer that was rubbish, more of a fling’.

So was Someone Like You just an intense reworking of her feelings about a ‘rubbish’ fling from the summer of 2008? Or was there a Mr Right — who somehow went undetected — between early 2009 and early 2010?

Some Adele-watchers believe the truth may be that the album is her creation in more ways than one. One source who has spent several weeks attempting to find ‘the man’ told me this week: ‘My money is that she has either made it up or this was a case of unrequited love.’

There is also a cynical theory among some in showbiz that there’s nothing like a mystery for keeping people interested. Could it be Adele’s PR machine is deliberately stoking the flame — thus the constant denials whenever a new name is suggested?

For her part, Adele insists there was a real romance, with a real person. But who on Earth is it — and why can nobody find him?

THE ROCK SINGER
Who? Jamie Reynolds, the lanky, rakish lead singer of rock group Klaxons and friend of model Alexa Chung.

Why might it be him? Jamie, 30, has an eye for the ladies, and the pair did get to know each other in 2008 when both appeared on TV show Never Mind The Buzzcocks. He studied philosophy at the University of Greenwich and is several years her senior, so seems to fit her worldly description.

Why not: Despite them both being famous, they have never been pictured together, and his lifestyle — which has included 72-hour benders — seems worlds away from Adele’s preference for staying in to watch The X Factor with a cup of tea and a cigarette. At one point in 2008, he was also said to be simultaneously dating both Peaches and Pixie Geldof.

He says: ‘It wasn’t him,’ insists his publicist.

THE POP GURU
Who? 36-year-old DJ and uber-producer Mark Ronson, responsible for hits by Lily Allen and Amy Winehouse.

Why might it be him? He is older, well-educated and certainly the kind of man who could have taught her about sociology, wine and so on. They have been close friends for years — he was the first person to really champion her back in 2006 when she first appeared on the music scene, and they collaborated on a track on her first album.

Why not: How on Earth would he have found the time? He dated someone else for three years until January 2008, and soon after started seeing model Daisy Lowe. They split in September 2008, and Ronson then had a fling with a female drummer before dating actress Josephine de la Baume. They are now married.
He says: ‘No comment.’

Adele cancels U.S. tour due to vocal illness

NEW YORK — British singer-songwriter Adele is canceling the remainder of her sold out U.S. tour due to a hemorrhage in her vocal cord, her record label said on Tuesday.

The Grammy-winning singer pulled out of 10 dates, starting with Atlantic City in New Jersey on Oct. 7 and finishing with three gigs in Texas two weeks later, on the back of her bestselling album "21" that has produced hits such as "Rolling in the Deep" and "Someone Like You."

"I have absolutely no choice but to recuperate properly and fully, or I risk damaging my voice forever," the 23-year-old singer said in a statement on her website. "I have great confidence in believing you know how much this upsets me, how seriously I take it and how truly devastated and annoyed I am by this."

Adele was already forced to postpone several U.S. dates earlier this year due to vocal cord issues and was finishing up a tour in Britain when her illness reappeared and she decided to cancel the remaining U.S. dates, said a statement by Columbia Records.

"My voice is weak and I need to build it back up. I'm gonna be starting up vocal rehab as soon as, and start building my overall stamina in my voice, body and mind," the singer said. "I will be back and I'm gonna smash the ball out the park once I'm touring again. I apologize from the bottom of my heart, sincerely I do."
