'Adele is bigger than me, how come nobody says anything about it'

She recently admitted to putting on 30lbs and now Lady Gaga has weighed in on the body image debate. In an interview with Stylist magazine the singer speaks out after hitting headlines because of her weight gain and asked why people didn't target British singer Adele.

Speaking to the magazine she said: 'Adele is bigger than me, how come nobody says anything about it? She’s so wonderful and I think her confidence is something I have to match. She has set the bar very high for a lot of women.'

Gaga, real name Stefani Germanotta, 26, explained how her mother had called her and asked her whether she had gained weight after pictures were published in magazines and online.

She said: ' I was acutely aware of some photos on the internet – my mum called me and was like, “Did you gain weight?” – everybody was telling me about it, and I didn’t really care. But when I heard it was on the news, where they talk about wars, the economy crashing and the election – I just thought, "This is f***ing ridiculous."'

She added: 'I mean, what kind of example is that to a young girl sitting at home? I thought, well I don’t really care if they think I’m fat, because, quite honestly, I did gain about 30 pounds.' The Born This Way singer was talking about her Body Revolution where she asks her fans to embrace their flaws whatever their shape.

Gaga told the magazine that her fans carry the message so she can focus on her music. While some critics may not like her larger shape her boyfriend Taylor Kinney is a big fan of her curves. The actor recently revealed that Gaga reminded him of his mother, in a good way. Speaking to The Sun, Taylor said: 'She works incredibly hard and is very strong and inspirational like mom, with a great work ethic.'

Lady Gaga Cuts Ties With Laurieann Gibson

After a long and fruitful creative partnership, Lady Gaga has broken ties with creative director Laurieann Gibson

MTV News confirmed the split on Monday (November 14), which came after reports that the two women had a serious falling out.

Gibson has been part of Gaga's inner circle since well before the singer became an international superstar, beginning with the choreography for the 2008 "Beautiful, Dirty, Rich" video and continuing through the soon-to-be famous steps in clips for "Just Dance," "Poker Face," "Love Game," "Paparazzi" and "Bad Romance."

Lady Gaga Calls For Meeting With Obama After Bullied Teen's Suicide

Lady Gaga was so shaken with the news about the death of 14-year-old Jamey Rodemeyer this weekend that she has called for President Obama to enact laws making bullying a hate crime.

Rodemeyer, who had posted an "It Gets Better" video in May about his long struggle with bullying at school, took his life on Sunday after what his parents said was years of taunting over his s*xuality. In his video, Rodemeyer cited Gaga as an inspiration, saying, "She makes me so happy.

She lets me know that I was born this way. And that's my advice to you from her: You were born this way. All you have to do is hold your head up and you'll go far." The teen seems on the verge of tears when discussing Gaga's message and promising to keep on going despite the hate. On Wednesday, Gaga expressed her sadness over Rodemeyer's death. "The past days I've spent reflecting, crying, and yelling," she tweeted.

I have so much anger. It is hard to feel love when cruelty takes someone's life." She went further, posting Rodemeyer's "Better" video, and insisting that bullying "must become illegal. It is a hate crime." In fact, Gaga claimed in a subsequent tweet, she's so upset that she is planning to meet with President Obama on the matter.
