Van Vicker: I have no beef against Majid
Popular Ghanaian actor Van Vicker has for the first time refuted speculations of a rift with AMAA 2012 Best Actor, Majid Michel.
Van Vicker told Hitz FM he does not have any problem with actor Majid Michel or anyone in the movie industry.
There have speculations of bad blood between the two popular screen faces.
The suspicions are believed to have been engendered by two developments that also happened just about the same time.
Van Vicker was falsely reported to have been arrested by the police in Nigeria on suspicion he was importing unlicensed guns. It turned out the story was not true, and he debunked that in an exclusive interview with Hitz FM. Just about the time, Majid won Best Actor at the Africa Movie Academy Awards, however, the feat did not receive much media blitz as the Vicker arrest story took the limelight.
According to Vicker, he personally acknowledged and congratulated Majid for winning the award, a situation he says would not have been possible if there was indeed a rift between them.
“Honestly if we were on bad terms, I wouldn't want to acknowledge him. I am not sure I would even want to mention that he won the best actor at the awards.
We are friends, we are on good terms and I don't have any beef with Majid or anyone in the movie industry.”
Van Vicker said he and Majid are players in the same industry who are striving to be the best they could. He therefore does not see himself trying to bring anybody down. “I think my energy is positive into making sure I get what I want, it doesn't mean I will stand up and bring someone else down.
He can excel in his own area and so can I. He has his weaknesses and I have mine, he has his strengths and I have mine as well. We ask for God's blessings so we move forward,” he said.
Van Vicker recently returned from Malawi after a series of projects in that country. He plans a US tour in two weeks to premier his movie.
BREAKING: Uche Jombo and Van Vicker Arrested By Police AGAIN
Reports reaching Newsmen confirms that Nollywood actress, Uche Jombo, Ghanaian actor, Van Vicker, Uduak Isong and some other crew were arrested by the police in Lagos yesterday.
We learnt that they were arrested while filming in Surulere, Lagos with some of their crew members. They were detained at Bode Thomas police station, Surulere, Lagos.
Though they have not been told on the grounds they were arrested, but according to what we gathered, unconfirmed sources believed that they were arrested because they might cause a false alert due to a robbery scene they were about to act as at the time of the arrest.
Unconfirmed sources also say they did not get the necessary approval to shoot the robbery scenes in the movie in that area.
Two weeks ago, Van Vicker was arrested in Lagos for arms possession which he claimed was for a movie props.
Uche Jombo was reported to have fought for his release by men of the State Security Services (SSS) in Lagos, where he was held overnight.
They are still in police detention as at the time of writing this story.
Ghanaian Actor, Van Vicker Arrested For Illegal Possession Of Fire Arms?
According to gist getting in from a Bola Aduwo, in her blog, top Ghanaian actor, Van Vicker was arrested in Lagos for possession of some arms last weekend.
Van Vicker was billed to attend the just concluded Africa Movie Academy Awards in Lagos on Sunday but missed the event.
He was reported to have been arrested by some men of the State Security Services (SSS) at the airport in Nigeria when some guns were found in his luggage.
He then told the SSS that the guns were props guns brought in for a movie.
Not convinced enough, he was taken to the SSS office in Ikoyi, Lagos for further investigation, where he spent the night.
The gist further has it that Van Vicker later tried contacting his families and a colleague, Uche Jombo, who was already at AMAA.
His message sent through a BlackBerry Messager (BBM) to Uche Jombo, which she didn't receive due too low battery, was received the next day.
Uche has reportedly helped with the release of the light skinned actor.

GHANAIAN STAR ACTOR,VAN VICKER DAZZLE IN A NEW FLICK'DISTANCE'
After what had appeared as long absence from the movie scene for about two years,Ghanaian actor Van Vicker seems to have bounced back and this time,the handsome actor is taking his career to the next level with the shoot of a new movie with working title,’Distance’.
The movie,being produced and directed by Van himself under his Sky Orange Productions,features some of the best actors from Ghana and Nigeria.
He would be using Kofi Adjorlolo as one of the lead casts,as well as himself.
Distance’ will be the third movie from the stables of Sky Orange after ‘Friday Night’ and ‘Raj’.
Van said he would be shooting another movie in November and hopefully more next year.
