Don Jazzy Put On Blast For Organizing "Doro Mega Hero" Competition

Firstly, Mavin's 'Dorobucci' hit song was labelled an occultic song, a claim Don Jazzy denied outright. But again, Don Jazzy has been put under the spot light, after he asked for entries for the creative designs of ‘Doro Mega Super Hero’ with a cash prize reward of $3000.

Creative directors, Tola Alabi, has described the competition as a publicity stunt, which he sees as unethical and exploitative.
According to him, Don Jazzy, instead of spending such money for the so-called competition, could have approached a creative agency or individual to do the job for him.
Here's what he wrote;

HERE WE GO AGAIN!
Another PR stunt getting off making thousands of artists and designers work without pay. I can imagine how many creatives would get on their macs and pcs to spend endless hours with the hopes of creating 'DORO MEGA SUPER HERO'(whatever that is). Not only is this unethical but very exploitative.

How do you pick the best out of over a thousand designs? As a matter of fact, how do you effectively pick the best out of over a thousand anything? If Don jazzy has $3000 to spend on developing this excuse of character, why doesn't he approach a creative agency or individual and work them.

Isn't that how he does his music videos? I wonder why he doesn't make that a competition as well? Simple because music video directors would not waste their time and resources, but unfortunately graphic designers would. Anyway, good luck to the person who 'wins'. For those who take part and have nothing to show but another heavy file to take up your RAM- I warned ya!

Don Jazzy Likes Tonto Dikeh's new song Suga Rush

The controversy surrounding Dbanj's new artist Tonto Dikeh(Pokolee) has attracted the attention of Marvin boss, Don Jazzy. Since the released of Tonto Dikeh's new single, Suga Rush, so many people have been saying it sounds like Mavin Record's massive hit, Dorobucci which features all the artists of the record label including award winning Tiwa Savage.

To silence the talk, he posted the above picture which shows his support for the new Tonto Dikeh jam. A lot of people have misinterpreted his post as him mocking Dbanj and Tonto Dikeh new song. If he wanted to mock the song, we all know he will say it out-rightly but that is not the case as he truly likes the song.

Don Jazzy reacts to the alleged Occult meaning of 'Dorobucci'

You must of see the viral picture explaining the real meaning of Don Jazzy's Mavin new song 'Doro'. The song has been making waves which made don jazzy take to twitter to explain what the 'Doro' means.

Jazzy who employed the use of urbandictionary.com, points out the meaning of “bucci”. “Bucci” pronounced as b-oo-ch-ee, is anything that is fun, cool, awesome, fantastic or any word of same meaning. The word is used when something wants to make you say AAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHH. E.g “Yeah, it’s totally bucci”
Its seem some mischievous people are not satisfied and have been spreading their own version shown below:
After seeing the handiwork of this mischief makers, Don jazzy tweeted the following:

Don Jazzy Hires Delta Airlines Staff Who lost Job because of him

Management of Delta airlines harsh oh. Don jazzy is very likable and his personality can be overwhelming, so i won't blame the staff for getting carried away. Sorry,  the gist is that a staff of Delta Airlines stationed at the Murtala Muhammed International Airport, Lagos was fired yesterday for going against the rules of the airport management.

The man allowed Don Jazzy drive the electric cart which is used to transport baggage and handicapped passengers within the airport. He allowed Don Jazzy ride in the cart even Don Jazzy was chanting "Oshodi. Oshodi oke"... After the management learnt about this, he was fired!.. Don Jazzy hearing the information,  hired him, gave him an immediate offer to work at Mavin HQ.

Although not sure on what type of job or position he was given. But at least he is not jobless.. Don Jazzy posted the video online of him riding in the cart but took it down, and later uploaded it after the guy was sacked... Lucky guy cos we all know he will get better pay.

Oh!!! Don Jazzy affected by Instagram policies(see why)

Instagram and their many policies, i quite agree with a lot of them especially the nudity policies but some are just strict. Don Jazzy says Instagram has informed him he has reached the limit for following users on Instagram. The Mavin music producer currently follows 7450 people and says when he reaches the threshold of 7500, he won’t be able to follow more people. Instagram user policy states that a user account cannot follow more than 7500 people.
In order to reduce unwanted spam, Instagram has recently placed a cap on the number of people that any account can follow at 7,500. This helps ensure that users do not violate our Community Guidelines. This change affects accounts that currently have less than 7,500 followers’, the social media company announced a while back. Here’s what Don Jazzy had to say about his ‘predicament’.
‘#DoroAnnouncement. Guys apparently Instagram stops me from following more than 7500 people. Yes I follow too many people cos it makes some people happy when I do. I like making people happy, live with it. That said, I see some people complaining about me posting too many pics. PLS if my posts re upsetting you in any way, and I’m following you, I totally understand. Pls just block me and we can both be great. You don’t get to see my annoying pics and I can clear up space to follow my people that want me to follow them. No hard feelings ooo. I still love you. osheee. God bless you as u cooperate’....

Don Jazzy's Mavin Hot New Music, Dorobucci Is the New Rave (Listen)

Don Jazzy doesn't disappoint when it comes to producing good music, i guess he was blessed with it. Also the best verse of the song was sang by the producer, what a rare voice,,

Dorobucci, don dorobucci,  doroJazzy, doroboss, dorobig, you know say doroheavy, doroskillfull, you know say dorobloody ,doro get the biggest label wey you know,,,,off course,,,,,,,doro bush pass anybody wey doro meet, doro gather pass anybody for the gathering,,,

Typical of the 'original producer' and his crew, 'Dorobucci' is an upbeat dancehall song with very catchy lyrics, you also cant miss the repetition of the new trending word 'doro'; just in case you are wondering what that means, don't worry about it too much, we don't exactly know either.

“I would have Flogged Donjazzy for disrespecting me”- Eedris Abdulkareem

Haba,, some people don't forget things easily and Eedris Abdulkarem is one of such people. We all know this story very well but it seems Eedris Abdulkarem don't want us to forget this saga and if don't know what i am talikng about, let me refresh your memory.

It all started when  Donjazzy tweeted “If you are a rapper, your father will never be proud of you".Don jazzy has apologize so many times to Nigerian rappers that he didnt mean it as an insult but just an expression that rappers don't make as much money as singers in Nigeria.

Eedris Abdulkarem is still angry over that statement and when Punch asked him he said Donjazzy was lucky he didn’t mention his name because he would have flogged him..lol
First of all, why didn’t he stay in London for the British government to give him a record deal? Shebi all of dem stayed in London, while some of them, like Banky W, went to America? But they all rushed back to Nigeria because it is here they could make such money. Of course, in America, they will not get paid $10, 000 for a show. Even some of the Americans like 50 Cent, the highest they will get for a show in their country is $50, 000. But they get paid $500, 000 here. If you could make such money here, you don’t have the right to stand up and say as a rapper, your parent will never be proud of you. Fortunately, it was money from rap music money that I used to build my houses. It was through rap music that I could venture into other businesses and do my agricultural project. It was rap money that I used to sponsor other guys on their trips to Europe.
When Don Jazzy posted that Twitter message, he specifically said: ‘For example, Mode 9’. He did that because he knew Mode 9 will not do anything to him. Why didn’t he mention Eedris? I would have sent people to bring him and get him flogged very well.
But I would have used that to teach him a lesson. Some people may call it controversy, but I will say controversy loves me. It is important to address that issue. This guy has allowed everything to get into his head quickly. He was feeling like Meen, so na Nigeria we dey make all this money now? The British government wouldn’t have given him that opportunity. So, it is we that made rap and R&B possible to the extent that you get paid nicely that you are now insulting. Apology or not, it was important that I addressed that issue.”
Funny enough, I am happy that they called me a thug. At least, I am an educated thug. People can say whatever they want. Some even say Eedris is proud. I am proud because hip-hop is proud. But the problem is that dem no know my secret. Dem no know how I dey take dey survive. I never come to dem papa house come ask for money before. The money some of these guys are making in the industry, I am the one that ignited the revolution for them to make it. I am fine and happy that I am doing very well. I am a musician, farmer and businessman. I know what I export to Europe. Germany is my base. I speak German. I am a businessman. I know where I am coming from. I am not an idiot.  Let them call me anything; I have friends in the industry, but I am very choosy. 2Face Idibia is my very good friend, Dr. Fresh is my friend and Terry G is my brother. If I am not friends with you, that mean say we no dey the same level and I’m not going to force myself. Na Eba I wan chop, you say make I chop amala. Na by force?

MONEY TIME: Check Out The Richest Nigerian Entertainers

I've brought you guys the most humble ones and now its the ending of the year, I'm going to give you the richest, Ventures Africa has compiled a list of the 5 richest.

Tuface: Born Innocent Idibia, the former member of the band, Plantashun Boyz, is among the richest artists in the industry. With two platinum records already behind him, Tuface (2Face) is speculated to be worth about 550 million naira ($3.47 million). He has had endorsement deals from companies such as Guinness, which earned him 20 million naira ($125,000) and Airtel, which earned him 22 million naira ($139,000). He was also rumoured to have collected 30 million naira ($189,000) from the producers of the Phat Girls movie. Tuface has invested heavily in real estate and stocks, and made big money from it.

He once said his goal was to recover all the wealth taken from Africa.

D’banj: Apart from his music interests, D’banj has moved into other sectors. His interests include Koko Mansion, a TV reality show, Koko Lounge, an upscale hangout in Lagos and the UK, Koko Foundation, a charity, and Koko Mobile. The bulk of his money comes from endorsements – his endorsement deal with Globacom telecommunications cost 70 million naira ($442,000). He has a multi-million naira endorsement with energy drink Power Fist, a deal with the makers of the Virgin Colour soft drink and another huge deal with a popular jeweler. Another endorsement which runs into millions is with Chris Aire, with D’banj acting as the face of his watches. He collects between 5 million naira ($31,500) and 7 million naira ($44,200) as performance fee for local gigs, and even bigger fees across the rest of Africa and in the US and the UK. Like his old boss, Don Jazzy, D’banj also bagged a recording deal with Kanye West’s G.O.O.D Music. D’banj once said, “I work hard so that money, awards, endorsements, bookings and kokolets chase me.”

Don Jazzy: Real name Michael Enebeli, Don Jazzy, is the founder of now defunct Mo’Hits and now runs Mavin Records. He is one of the most sought after producers in Nigeria. As a child he was a member of Good Morning Kids, a group created by his father.
He is known for his business dexterity, building Mo’Hits from scratch to become one of the biggest entertainment empires in the country. He recently signed a recording deal with Kanye West – a move that not only boosted his reputation as an entertainer, but also his wealth.

P- Square: Singing and dancing duo Peter and Paul Okoye won the KORA award for Best Africa Artiste in 2010, collecting a $1 million prize in the process. Shortly after, the duo got an endorsement deal with Globacom telecommunications worth about 240 million naira ($1.5 million) for four years. Their seven-city American tour in 2010 earned them a whopping $1m and have also built a house valued at 300 million naira ($1.9 million). They own Rayfield Hotel, Jos, and two multi-million naira factories in the same city, where they built a multimillion naira bakery and sachet water companies for their parents. The bulk of their wealth comes from concerts, especially in Africa, where they charge about 2 million naira ($12,600) per show. They have sold over 14 million copies of their CDs since 2005.

Banky W: Banky W has become one of the richest entertainers in the industry, making the bulk of his wealth from gigs, where he charges between 2.5 million naira ($15,800) and 3 million naira ($19,000) per show and performs three to four times each week. A brand ambassador of Estisalat, one of Nigeria’s telecommunications giants, he also featured in Coca Cola-Nigeria’s World Cup theme song and Microsoft’s Anti-cyber Crime Initiative. An entrepreneur, Banky W has invested heavily in various businesses and also doubles as a philanthropist, founding the Mr. Capable Foundation, where he provides tuition fees for indigent and brilliant students. He is also the force behind EME music which has, arguably, the Nigeria’s fastest rising artiste (Wizkid) under the label.

''I Used To Like Ladies With Big Hips, Until One Morning....'' – Don Jazzy

The taste of Woman of Mavin Records boss, Don Jazzy, regarding what kind of women he likes seem to have changed.

In a older interview by Punch journalists, he said;

"With due respect to slim ladies, there is no way any lady shaped like a broom can attract my full attention.

I'm sorry but that's the truth. My ideal woman must be God-fearing. She must have all the basic curves in the right places. The rounder and bigger her chest and backside, the better."

Now Don Jazzy claims to prefer slim ladies more.

In a very recent interview with Yes! Magazine, he said,
"See, I'm very very dangerous in the sense that my mind can change sometimes. For instance, a lot of people used to think that I like people with big hips and backside.

"But I woke up one morning and everything changed. I'm a totally different person now and I like my women straight up from the runway - Lepa to bad (Smiles).

Some of my friends say I'm having midlife crisis, but that's what I like now."
