Emmy Collins Attacks Actress Mercy Johnson : ''She Wears N3k Tejusho Dress And........

 Nigerian popular designer, Emmy Collins, who is known for being so outspoken and constantly criticising celebrities for their dress sense has come out to attack Nollywood actress mercy Johnson over her appearance in the photo below.

This is what he said below:

Okay, so I got this from a reader this morning, "ehen small aproko …Emmy, I saw pics of Mercy Johnson looking tacky on other blogs and they tagged her sexy. I confuse o" My understanding of the mood of the author of this comment was that of someone gob-smacked by either a blatant lie or blatant ignorance.

Mercy Johnson looks so cheap here that if cheap were to be animated today, it would most definitely not want to be associated with Mercy Johnson. Yes, she seemed so hideously dressed in that hideous dress (haha, playing with words, na me biko). I don`t even know where to start or end, the N3k tejusho dress, akpola shoes, the "mgbekerish" pose, the walls behind her(background), foot mat, et al, yet some blogger deemed it appropriate to tag this picture right here "sexy". Kai, sexy don suffer ni. Abasi mbo, Chineke no n'eluigwe, Oluwa! What did we do to deserve this?

Okay, I know what we did. We became too hypocritical. I can imagine cheap (I mean animated version) blurting out words like - "abeg, abeg, I know say I cheap, but no be like that nah,kai! No put me near that cheap looking woman, biko" - when compared to Mercy Johnson in this ensembles of hers. On a very positive note, we should all be thankful to the almighty God/Allah that she didn`t venture putting on those sunnies in her hands, because if she did, kai, egbe for gas, lol.

More often than not, I wonder if these sort of classless half-baked celebrities that we are bedeviled with aren`t God`s idea of punishment for all the iniquities we commit against him daily. We have "afọ anu" celebrities that are ineffective in all spheres of life, be it politics, fashion, etc. Tell me a Naija celebrity that has influenced any fashion trend? Perhaps just about 2% of them have pet projects, except when they surround themselves with cameramen while visiting motherless babies homes. In another clime, these are supposedly the innovative bunch, but it's sad that the last word a well meaning and well-informed individual would use to describe any Nigerian actress or actor today is "innovative". How did we get here? It has become a nonsensical game of 'please find out where Genevieve or Omotola has visited, me too I wan go there nah and make sure all the blogs will post the pictures'."

Well, you guys know what I think about this image, what do you think?

Okay, Mercy, here is the deal. If you gonna be showing your mansion in Ajah, shouldn't you be spending some dosh on your style as well?

I Once Lived In An Uncompleted Building-- Mercy Johnson Narrates Humble Beginning

 In a recently interview with Saturday Tribune, Mercy Johnson Okojie opens up about life before the fame, money and marriage.

 She talks about how she once lived in an uncompleted building and how she was inspired to start acting after watching one of Genevieve Nnaji's movies. Excerpt below...

    ''Sometimes when I cry in movies, it isn't the script that makes me cry. When I recall my humble beginning, I give thanks to God. When I remember how we moved into an uncompleted building and had to take cover whenever it rained because of the condition of the house; how my brother did a menial job as a bricklayer to earn a living and those days when we rolled over a stick to cover the windows up till the point when I started acting and raised money to cover the roof… I recall those days we were living with lizards because the floor and the walls of the house were not plastered, or when I had scars as a result of my several falls.” Continue...

                                                            
How she got into acting..
“After my secondary school education, I failed the University Matriculation Examination (UME) and came back to Lagos to get a degree. While that was on, I watched Genevieve Nnaji in a movie entitled: Sharon Stone. I later approached a friend for assistance to feature in a movie. He said I had a great body and that I would make a good actress. He later took me to the National Theatre, but a role did not come until a year later, when I had my first lead role in a film entitled: The Maid. The Maid was my starting point and it was quite challenging to play the lead role because it was my first movie. I was fidgeting when I saw the likes of Eucharia Anunobi, whom I regarded as a screen goddess during my secondary school days. I never thought I would make it with people like that. So, when I saw her, I was so excited and considered standing beside her as sacred. She actually realised that and later helped me by giving me the needed courage."

 What has marriage changed about you?
Marriage has taught me lots of things and I’ve learnt a lot since I got married too. I know that if I had gotten married earlier, I wouldn’t have made most of the errors I made. It’s good to be married to somebody who is so organised; he brings you up the right way and reminds you of whom you’re supposed to be.

You seem to be enjoying marriage a lot.  You even once said that as soon as Purity (her daughter) clocks one, you would be going back to the labour room …
My sister, marriage has been sweet for me because I have the best husband and daughter in the world. Being a married woman, I have learnt to tolerate things more. It has changed my perspective of life and the way I react to things.

But getting married and being an actress are two different things. How do you balance up?
When I’m not at location, I spend quality time with my family. And guess what? My husband has always been there for me and Purity. It’s obvious we are his priority. He’s a loving husband and father.

Your husband does not complain about those times when you are away?
He doesn’t; he understands the nature of my job. He’s the best thing that has happened to me. People usually say men are not reliable. In the case of my husband, he’s a blessing.

What was the point of attraction between you and Mr Okojie?
What attracted him to me was his fearless approach. You know sometimes, you meet some guys and they get intimidated about you, but not with him. The first time we were supposed to have a date, he said ‘Let’s go to my house so you can cook for me’ and in my mind, I was like “Seriously, this guy doesn’t know my name.” So, I said “My name is Mercy Johnson” and he said ‘Yes I know''.

Top Nollywood actress Mercy Jonhson Okojie recently took out time to appreciate her fans for all their support and love. Read what she said below;

'2013 has been an incredible year for me. I couldn’t ask for more. It is one year I won’t forget in a hurry.

My fans were amazing. They stood by me and took on my fight. The critics played their parts too. I took the constructive ones, made adjustment and became a better person.

How can I forget 2013, the year I had the honour of being the most searched Nollywood actress for the third consecutive year. I am most grateful to the fans who worked the keyboard or keypad reading about me online.

I am grateful to my team, the media and management company, Bigsam Media that became like sponge, wiping away the negative past and soaking in the future. I am most grateful.

Social media, Twitter most especially, played significant role in reaching out directly. The teaming fans on Twitter and other platforms, this is for you; thank you for loving, tolerating and being there for me.
