The London-born singer has topped the Sunday Times Rich List of young British musicians following the success of her second album, 21, with its chart-topping tales of heartbreak and woe.
She is not the only young female singer to make millions.
Her former schoolmate Jessie J makes her way on to the list, limited to those aged 30 and under, for the first time with a fortune of £5million.
The 24-year-old went to the BRIT School in Croydon with Adele and X Factor winner Leona Lewis, whose fortune is valued at £12million.
Jessie J’s debut album, Who You Are, has sold nearly one million copies and she is now the standout star of BBC talent show The Voice, on which she is a coach.
