Actress Stella Damascus Detained-NDLEA stopping traffickers or embarrassing travellers??

This is indeed not the best of times for Nollywood big boys and big girls who frequent the Muritala Mohammed International Airport on their way in and out of the country. The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) seem to have launched an eagle-eye operation against Nigerian celebrities over growing suspicion that many of them are...
involved in the dirty business of narcotics trafficking. First it was Baba Suwe, three weeks ago another Yoruba actress was denied UK visa on grounds suspected to be related to the Baba Suwe saga and now it’s the turn of beautiful actress, Stella Damasus.

On Thursday the popular actress was arrested, detained, thoroughly grilled and uncommonly searched by men of the anti-drug agency over what was suspected to be an attempt by her to smuggle drugs suspected to be Cocaine from the country to Dubai.

According to an inside source, the fair complexion actress was detained in the NDLEA custody for several hours by 'no nonsense' operatives of the Agency where she was searched in a very rigorous pattern (no minding she's a lady), involving series of scans being carried out on her.

Unfortunately for Stella, she was said to have missed her flight while the investigation lasted. In fact, sources say the situation almost degenerated into another Baba Suwe experience before reason prevailed and Stella Damasus was let off the hook without 'dropping any expensive shit'.

As soon as she was released, sources say the actress quietly packaged herself, booked another flight and jetted out of the country before the news could spread. But it soon became public knowledge that 'Stella Damascus was detained and investigated by NDLEA on suspicion of Cocaine trafficking'. And her friends started contacting her to confirm the incident.

Reacting to the "rough treatment" that was visited on her, Stella simply posted a short message on her Twitter account: “Today I regret being a Nollywood Star”.
