Beyonce and Jay-Z welcome a baby girl Ivy Blue Carter

NEW YORK – Pop megastar Beyonce Knowles gave birth Saturday to a baby girl at a hospital in New York City, according to media reports.

Mother and baby were both "doing fine," the Houston Chronicle reported as it broke the news, which was later confirmed by entertainment news website E! Online.

The 30-year-old Destiny's Child and "Single Ladies" star is married to hip-hop icon Jay-Z, whose real name is Shawn Carter.

Jay-Z was telling friends he and Beyonce had named their daughter Ivy Blue Carter, E! Online reported.

The couple rented out the entire fourth floor of Lenox Hill Hospital, on Manhattan's Upper East Side, for the birth -- paying $1.3 million, the New York Daily News reported.

The newspaper said a hospital staffer had revealed Beyonce had checked in Friday night under the name "Ingrid Jackson."

Hospital management reportedly put tape over security cameras and forced staff to hand in their cell phones in an effort to stop unauthorized photographs or footage of mother and baby being leaked.

Security guards were also reported to have been sighted outside the building, located off Park Avenue.

Beyonce revealed her pregnancy at August's 2011 MTV Video Music Awards in Los Angeles, arriving in a dress that showed off her baby bump.

Former bandmate Kelly Rowland appeared to let slip the baby's s*x in a November interview, saying, "I have no idea what I'm going to buy Beyonce at the baby shower because Jay is going to buy that little girl every single thing possible. She won't be spoiled but she will be very well looked-after."

An Ohio Police Department arrested and charged Ronald Deaver with felonious assault, Why was Deaver arrested and charged? Because he stabbed another man for not knowing that Beyonce is married to Jay-Z--yes you read that right.

According to the arrest report, the two men got into a fight over a music video while watching television on Dec. 31 at Deaver's Garfield Heights home, about 10 miles outside of Cleveland.

The victim was taken to a local hospital where he is, reportedly, in good condition. Authorities located Deaver a short time later outside of the residence.

If the victim didn't know Bey was married to the rapper and mogul, he probably had no idea the love birds are about to become a mommy and daddy--although he must be living under a rock, considering the rumors of Bey giving birth. Forget Jay-Z, we can't imagine what Deaver would have done if the conversation included Beyonce.

Viewers do a double-take as Beyoncé performs on Jimmy Fallon show looking not so pregnant

If she wanted to fuel more rumours of a fake pregnancy then Beyoncé certainly did so last night.

The singer performed her latest single, Countdown, on the Late Night With Jimmy Fallon but her baby bump was nowhere in sight.

Viewers had to do a double-take as the presenter introduced the singer as she wore a short black dress and certainly didn't look six months pregnant.

But fans can relax as the 30-year-old singer hasn't been living a lie - she just pre-recorded the performance back in the summer.

But what baffled audiences more was the fact that Fallon made out that the U.S. star was actually there in the studio.

As he clutched a copy of the singer's latest album, he looked into the camera and said: 'Tonight she's here to perform the song Countdown from her latest album, Four. Please welcome Beyoncé.'

The audience surrounded him then erupted into cheers and began to applaud someone who wasn't even there.
