A California court has ordered the President of the United States of America to return pop music icon Michael Jackson’s glove to the President of Equatorial Guinea’s son, Teodoro Nguema Obiang.
In October 2011, the Obama administration seized assets worth $71 million from the 41 year old, including a yacht, a $38m Gulfstream jet, and $3.2m dollars worth of bejewelled Michael Jackson memorabilia, including the crystal-encrusted glove from the singer’s 1987 ‘Bad’ tour, purchased for $300,000.
Obiang currently serves as the Minister of Agriculture and Forestry in his father’s administration, for which he’s paid a monthly salary of $6,800.
The court said Obiang hasn’t been charged with any crime in his home country, nor in the U.S, and therefore should take possession of his properties seized by the American government.
