Bovi Shares Lovely And Revealing Birthday Message To Richard Mofe Damijo On His Birthday

 Wow! who knew? Bovi was once a personal assistant to Richard Mofe Damijo, for two years, 2004 to 2006.

Fresh out of school via NYSC, I had come to Lagos with just a bag. Squatting with my uncle who was a squatter, I dusted my scripts and headed to my appointment with nolywood icon, RMD. He leaned back on his swivel chair and crossed his legs on his table. It was the cleanest pair of mokasin shoes I had ever seen. In my mind I was before a "god".  

Tell me about yourself, he said. I mumbled my family history unfluently. Any hopes of selling my scripts to him fizzled when he pointed to a corner in his office that had about a hundred scripts. I wasn't the only one trying to sell scripts. He promised to read mine and that he did. To fulfill all righteousness he took me to meet potential buyers on movie sets. One of such buyers, a director, ripped my story and made a movie years down d line.  

After four weeks of escorting RMD on set, he said "I'm looking to hire a PA. If you think you fit the profile go home and think about it and let me know on Monday." My answer was immediate, "I don't need to go think. I can do it" "then resume on Monday". And PA I was for two years and six months but what I came out with, the things I learned from his direct teachings is what u describe as d polishing of diamond. He have me a book and said "Bovistus, if you read this book it would seem like you have a masters without d certificate." And that book was " the 22 immutable laws of branding". And it was true.  

Once I asked him, how do you cope with the attention and the fame? He replied " ignore it. Or you will just die". Once I asked him "when does one cement his status as an entertainer" and he said " you are only as good as your last performance. There is no holiday on this job. If you flop in your next outing, that's the one people will remember". Once I asked him why a favorite big brother Nigeria character had been shockingly evicted, he smiled, looked me in the eyes and said "whenever you start from the top, there's only one place to go; down".  

These are few of the very many life changing advice that where handed down to me. More than silver and gold. And I appreciate them forever. Well, all I've been trying to say is " happy birthday to the legend, Richard Mofe-Damijo.

I'm in the best shape of my life- RMD

There have been rumours both online and on entertainment magazines that Nollywood icon and Delta State Commissioner for Culture & Tourism, Richard Mofe-Damijo, has health issues probably because of his recent weight loss.According to LindaIkeji who saw him recently, he looked more handsome than ever!

Anyway, RMD has reacted to the rumours, saying he's better than ever.

"What else do you need? You saw me on stage, did I look sick? People are probably so disappointed to see me looking so much better they want the news to be true. Unfortunately for them, I am in the best shape of my life. 

"Have you not taken photos of me. It amazes me how people cling to bad news. I am a public servant in Delta State, I go to work every day. I am not sick. I changed my lifestyle and lost weight and I am looking better than I have ever looked in my adult life. For the records, I am not on Facebook and my colleagues that they used their names as those who posted the stories have all denied it.”RMD told Weekend Groove

Left is RMD at Amaka Igwe's Tribute night on Monday and right is RMD at the Delta Entertainment Awards in Asaba two days ago where he received a Lifetime Achievement Award. I know most of two want to see the RMD(photo below) that we used to know but lets face the truth, he is getting older and a slight change in lifestyle as he claimed can bring about the changes we have noticed. The actor and public servant says he is fine,so let us take his word for it.

Lover Or What? : Pastor Chris Okotie’s Estranged Wife, Stephanie Steps Out With Nollywood Star RMD

 
 Stephanie Henshaw, the ravishingly beautiful estranged wife of Rev. Chris Okotie was again spotted at a social event, the Glo Evergreen Series 2 Concert which held at Intercontinental Hotel, Victoria Island, Lagos, on Friday, February 28, 2014.

According to Encomium mag, at the event, Stephanie shared a table with her ex-husband’s church member, famous actor and Delta State Commissioner for Culture and Tourism, Richard Mofe-Damijo (RMD). 

 But, when they approached her for a chat, Stephanie barely acknowledged their greeting, RMD too politely signalled them to stay off her with his body language.

Encomium also reports that obviously hit hard by the unfortunate incident that robbed her of the life of luxury she reveled when the going was better, the Efik, Cross River born and twice married mother of three tactically withdrew from the public shortly after she returned from a UK holiday.

 Though her sister, Ms. Cynthia Henshaw insisted back then, she was not worried one bit by Okotie dumping her, busybodies who had been on her trail painted a picture of a distraught lady no longer at ease with her world. So, perhaps to prove she is cool and not in want of care and love, Stephanie has found her groove back as she now attends social events.

This would be the third time Stephanie has made a public appearance after her four-year old marriage to Chris Okotie crashed in June 2012. She was at RMD's son's wedding last year, the Classic FM valentine show on February 14, 2014, and now Glo Evergreen series.

 Nollywood veteran actor, Richard Mofe Damijo’s son, Oghenekome, began marital rites for his heartthrob yesterday, December 12th.

 The actor led top Nigerian celebrities and individuals to the home of Eniola Abiodun’s parents for their traditional and engagement ceremony - as a matter of fact, it was as if the whole Lagos turned up to celebrate with the popular actor and Delta State commissioner.

The white wedding is set for this Saturday.
