Madonna has been criticised by a fellow performer at the Ultra Music Festival in Miami, Florida after making a reference to drugs while addressing the crowd during her show.
The pop-star caused the stir during a surprise appearance at the electronic music festival on Saturday.
"Electronic music has been a part of my life since the beginning of my career and I can honestly say that a DJ saved my life," Madonna said to the cheering crowd before introducing DJ AVICII.
She then added: "I have a few questions for you – how many people in this crowd have seen Molly?"
'Molly' is known as a slang term for MDMA, the active chemical in ecstasy.After hearing her comments, popular electronic music DJ Deadmau5 took to social networking sites to criticise the singer for promoting drug use in front of younger members of the audience.
The Canadian performer, whose real name is Joel Thomas Zimmerman said: "HAS ANYONE SEEN MOLLY???" such a great message for the young music lovers at Ultra."
He later added to his comments on the micro-blogging site:
