Senegalese-American pop-urban singer Akon has been sued for the second time in the space of two weeks. This time Akon faces a lawsuit from lawyers he hired last year.
According to the lawsuit filed against the five-time Grammy Nominee, Akon employed the services of a team of lawyers at law firm YOSS which covered civil/business matters. That firm is now alleging the singer refused to pay fees totalling to $39, 363.74 (N6.3m) for legal services rendered.
Akon has in response to the suit asked a judge to dismiss the case. It is still unclear whether he wants to settle out of court.
In February, the Konvict Music/Kon Live record label boss was sued for $51,000 (N8.1m) by a local contracting company Southern Electric for allegedly not paying his construction bill.
Akon has recently been linked with a number of Nigerian music stars including 2face, Wizkid and Psquare, appearing in the latter’s newest video ‘Chop My Money’.
