Darey – Double dare
One thing that haunts the beautiful music Darey makes his an almost desperate desire to be commercial, to be pop.
Maybe understandably following rumours of his debut album running down an initially excited marketer when the supposed in-demand CD didnt move units as expected.
Most of the records he has made along this line have always fallen flat and sometimes saved by the visual alone. Darey croons melodiously but shouldnt dare with pop records that scream I want that mass appeal bad. Double dare CD carries gems, a result of hardwork but overall, Darey doesnt deliver a masterpiece.
Terry G – Terry Gzus
Nothingness! This year it didnt pay off and so it would be next year. Might just be time for Terry Gzus to return to the love you s*xy days. Disjointed album, with records that have nothing to do with the almost blasphemous album title (would have been, but it is more of a joke)
Naeto C – super c season
The MC with MSc has been rechristened as the number MC, nobody has scored hits back to back with songs titled with number. Super C season fell short as a body of work. Disagree? lets hear you, Use the comment box.
Kas – Fimile international edition
It is sad. That friends wont tell this artiste that he should quit as an artiste and stick to production. The album released this year was n different from the boring, monotonous sound the artiste is known for, contribution from actress turned singer Tonto Dikeh does very little to make the collaboration and the album fell flat.
Bracket – Cupid Stories
Here is a reviewer take: This album is unimaginative and one-dimensional. From the beginning to the end its the same rhythm tweaked to suit the different instrumentals. The production is scarcely anything to boast of as most of the producers churn out formulaic beats for the guys to sing on.
The core problem with the album lays in the fact that Bracket try to make every song a pop hit but with limited skills and vocal talent they fall short of their target. The lyrics department also falls short.
