Depressed Man Offers Himself As Food To White Tigers In Zoo(PHOTOS)

In China, zoo keepers managed to save the life of a mentally disturbed man after he announced he wanted to improve the lives of caged tigers at a local zoo by offering them his own body to eat.

Yang Jinhai, 27, had posted several online messages about how optimistic he was about starting a new life after getting a job as a security guard in Chengdu in southwest China's Sichuan province.

But he quickly found the job boring and monotonous and moved instead to a job in a printing factory where he also then resigned, saying that he felt there was more to life.

After going to the local zoo he wrote how depressing it was to see the ‘noble and magnificent tigers’ living in such humble surroundings, where they were caged and unable to follow their natural instincts to hunt and kill

He then announced that he had decided to sacrifice himself in order to provide the Bengal tigers with support.

Eyewitness Feng Lin said: ‘He climbed up the outside of the cage and jumped inside expecting, I assume, that the tigers would pounce on him. Instead the two tigers, a male and a female, seemed more nervous than anything else and the female actually ran off.

‘He then tried to antagonise the tigers by pulling faces at them. Eventually he was attacked by the male where he was cut after being scratched and bitten before he could be rescued by zoo keepers who fired a tranquilliser dart at the male tiger.’

They then pulled the man out of the cage.

Yang's family told local media Mr Jinhai had been depressed for a long time and said that he had been taken to a home where he was given psychiatric counselling to cope with his problems. See more photos below.......

Apart from information gathered from the source close to the duo, independent music promoters/artiste managers also confirmed this, declaring the Koko master, D’Banj as the second highest paid artiste. The DB Record boss charges between N6 and N7 million as a standard show fee.

“Before the split of Mo’Hits, it used to be D’Banj. When D’Banj was charging between N7 and N8 million, P-Square’s fee was N5 million”, a veteran music manager affirmed, adding, “Right now, it’s P-Square.”

The afro-pop king, 2Face Idibia is the third highest paid. Although, 2Face’s performance fee has not been consistent, it’s within N5 and N6 million.

Industry sources told ENCOMIUM Weekly that 2Baba, as he’s fondly addressed, easily adjust fees because of the love he has for fans. “I agreed that he’s the third because he loves what he knows how to do best than the money.

He’s man of the people and he loves to reach out to the people. He’s always happy when he’s on stage.”

Star Boyz owner, Wizkid, who stormed the industry three years ago, rose to become the fourth highest paid music star, collecting between N4 and N5 million. Aside artistes that still receive less than N1 million, Naeto C and Waje’s fee is N1.5 million.

“Basically, each artiste has a standard fee for gigs, concerts but for private parties such as birthday, wedding, etc, it varies. Some people would call for reduction simply because they are individuals, not brands. It depends on the artistes whether to accept or not. What I know is that it’s always fixed”, said an artiste manager.

Lesbians? Actress Speaks On Her Sexual Relationship With Genevieve Nnaji

Benin Republic star, Ella Martins spoke out on her alleged romantic relationship with Nollywood actress, Genevieve Nnaji.

Apparently some magazines before now had reported that, Genevieve Nnaji and her Benin Republic actress, Ella Martins friend were lesbians and partners in the act.

Ella recently reacted to this, and reviewed to that such a thing never happened between them.

Read how Ella debunked the claim below...

Genevieve is a very good friend of mine, we met way back in 2004 and we have been good friends since then. The story that we are lovers must have come from another female friend of hers. I am saying this because since 2004, there have been no such lesbian stories but suddenly it sprung up.

Towards the end of last year, I came to Nigeria and I stayed with Genevieve. Although we stayed under the same roof, we slept in different rooms.

There was a time during my visit that we both went to see a friend in a hotel in Lekki and people saw us going in. We later went clubbing that night with the friend and which I think is a normal thing for girls to club if they want to. But that was when the rumours got worse, that we went into the hotel to sleep with each other!!!

She said it’s not the first time the Press would label her a lesbian but she has developed a thick skin and so it doesn’t bother her because she knows she is not a lesbian!

Genevieve and I have known each other since 2004 and she really is a nice person if you get to know her. We talk on phone a lot and we discuss life’s issues like normal girls do, she is a wonderful person.

I guess it’s because she is a famous person that some undesirable elements want to tarnish her image and mine too. The Press make things worse too.

There was a time I performed with Tony Tetuila and there were rumors after then that we were dating. But I just want to emphasize here that Genevieve and I are not in any form of sexual relationship, we are just good friends.

After abandoning her mother and siblings in search of fame and fortune,  winner of the maiden edition of Glo X Factor, Obianuju Catherine Udeh aka DJ Switch, has begged her family for forgiveness.

The 29-year-old Geology graduate of the University of Port Harcourt was declared winner of the Globacom sponsored music reality TV show at the grand finale held in Lagos and beamed to million of viewers across the continent yesterday.

She beat two other contestants, Ethel Eshun and Vicky Gomoti in the last round of voting to win a whopping N24 million cash prize and a recording contract with Sony Music.

In an exclusive interview with The Entertainer, the indigene of Udi, Enugu State, said she felt bad for abandoning home for more than a year while pursuing her music career and now that she has made it, she’s asking for forgiveness. “I am sorry mum for being away from home for so long while in search of glory. Now that I am back, I will take good care of you,” DJ Switch declares in tears.

Switch likened herself to a prodigal son who got opportunities but frittered them away. “I was like a prodigal son who had an opportunity in the past but due to youthful exuberance I mismanaged the resources. Now, I am a better person and more matured, I won’t disappoint my mum and my fans.”

The rapper whose single, Landing Safely, would be released next week, vowed to continue working as long as she lives. “For me, it’s going to be work, work and work,” she promised.

Journey to fame and fortune

However, before the announcement of the results, the expectation of the audience, judges and contestants had built to a crescendo as everybody waited anxiously to find out who the first X Factor winner in Africa would be. The suspense was to last even longer as Glo ambassador from Ghana, Efya came on stage for a wonderful performance that had the audience applauding rapturously.

After her performance, X Factor host, Toolz, turned to the judges and sought to know how they felt about the night. Reggie was the first to respond, saying: “I’m so excited that I brought my wife with me so we can both be excited together. It’s been a beautiful journey; I can’t wait to see who will walk away with the money.”
On his own part, the rapper popularly known as Mr. Incredible (MI) says: “It’s been incredible. The crew; light guys, my fellow judges and the contestants have all been wonderful.”

And when Toolz asked Onyeka who she thought would be the winner that night, she answered with a smile: “I was so excited, I brought my Bible along with me. At this stage, I think the last three contestants have all won.”
Shortly afterwards, 2008 UK X Factor winner, delectable Alexandra Burke, mounted the stage for a wonderful performance that drew a resounding applause from the audience. The three finalists, DJ Switch, Eshun and Vicky later joined Burke on stage to perform Hallelujah chorus.

Flavour came on stage next to thrill the audience with a scintillating performance. The musician proved why he was a crowd favourite as people rose to their feet to sing and dance along with him. After Flavour’s performance, the contestants came out to sing the original songs they sang at the audition stage. Vicky was the first to perform and she got a standing ovation from the three judges.

“How did your daughter perform?” Toolz inquired of Onyeka.
“She has grown from a pupa to a butterfly. She sang with confidence and inner joy. I had goose pimples just listening to her. I have no doubt that she’ll make it. May God bless you,” Onyeka says.

To Reggie, Vicky just proved that “our work has not been in vain.”
And MI said: “Wow, Vicky is just so amazing. You are absolutely stunning. They way you’re radiating joy; don’t keep it to yourself, please, share with the world.”

DJ Switch
DJ Switch came up next engendering a boisterous response from the crowd with her performance of Jay Z’s Forever Young. Reacting to her performance, MI said: “Switch, people scream when you perform because you inspire us all. When you came for the audition, I felt you tried. I had already made up my mind that you wouldn’t make it to my final three mentees, but you changed my mind. Everybody here needs to know that no matter what people say about you, it doesn’t matter as long as you fight.”
Reggie gushed: “DJ Switch, you are inspirational; you excite me. My children love you; everybody loves you!”

And Onyeka opined thus: “Unlike the other judges, the moment you stepped on stage, I knew you had it.”
Eshun was the next to perform, and she pulled out all the stops as she shimmered in her green attire. “One of the best things on this programme is that I got to mentor Vicky and Eshun. She is exquisite, beautiful, gorgeous and talented. She walks onto the stage and lights it up. You have something that is very special. No matter what happens here, you have me permanently in your camp. You will take the world by storm!” Onyeka declared.

MI said: “You are a perfect example of what this show is all about. You epitomize everything X Factor stands for. You’ve been one of my favourites.”
Her Ghanaian countryman, Reggie, commented: “My story with my sister is different. We come from the same place and people expect me to give her a pass. It often seems as if I’m tough on you, but look at where you stand now. You have done well!”

Nigerian lady wins World Muslim beauty pageant

21 year old University of Lagos student, Obabiyi Aisha Ajebola, tearfully prayed and recited the Koran as she won a beauty pageant exclusively for Muslim women in the Indonesian capital today, a riposte to the Miss World contest that has sparked hardline anger.

The 20 finalists, who were all required to wear headscarves, put on a glittering show for the final of Muslimah World, strolling up and down a catwalk in elaborately embroidered dresses and stilettos.

After a show in front of an audience of mainly religious scholars and devout Muslims, a panel of judges picked Obabiyi Aishah Ajibola from Nigeria as the winner.

While the event in a Jakarta shopping mall paled in comparison to Miss World on the resort island of Bali, in which scores of contestants are competing, Ajibola was nevertheless overwhelmed.

Upon hearing her name, the 21-year-old knelt down and prayed, then wept as she recited a Koranic verse.

She said it was “thanks to almighty Allah” that she had won the contest. She received 25 million rupiah ($2,200) and trips to Mecca and India as prizes.

Ajibola told AFP before the final that the event “was not really about competition”.

“We’re just trying to show the world that Islam is beautiful,” she said.

Organisers said the pageant challenged the idea of beauty put forward by the British-run Miss World pageant, and also showed that opposition to the event could be expressed non-violently.

Eka Shanti, who founded the pageant three years ago after losing her job as a TV news anchor for refusing to remove her headscarf, bills the contest as “Islam’s answer to Miss World”.

“This year we deliberately held our event just before the Miss World final to show that there are alternative role models for Muslim women,” she told AFP.

“But it’s about more than Miss World. Muslim women are increasingly working in the entertainment industry in a sexually explicit way, and they become role models, which is a concern.”

Hosted by Dewi Sandra, an Indonesian actress and pop star who recently hung up her racy dresses for a headscarf, the pageant featured both Muslim and pop music performances, including one about modesty, a trait the judges sought in the winner.

The pageant, which also featured bright Indonesian Islamic designer wear, is a starkly different way of protesting Miss World than the approach taken by Islamic radicals.
