A 32 year old woman, Rahman Raliat, residing at Prince Abolaji Avenue, Imolete, Alaga, Baba Adisa Village, Ibeju Lekki, Lagos, has been dragged before the Tinubu Magistrate Court for allegedly stabbing her co-tenant, Sulaimon Jamiu with a broken bottle, PM News reports.
She was charged with a one count charge of felony stabbing occasioning grievous bodily harm.
According to reports, both Raliat and Sulainmon live in a compound where the tenants share a single bathroom and toilet. Raliat had gone to Sulaimon's room to ask for the keys to the bathroom but was challenged by Sulaimon for coming to monitor his female guest.
An argument ensued between the co-tenants which led to a fight and in the process, Raliat broke a bottle and stabbed Sulaimon in the face, hand and head. Raliat was reported to have fled the scene immediately she stabbed Sulaimon but was later arrested.
The offense, the police prosecutor, Inspector I. Okeke said, contravened Section 243 of the Criminal Code of Lagos State, 2011. Raliat pleaded not guilty to the charge and was granted bail of N50,000 with two sureties in like sum. She was however taken to Kirikiri Prisons until she fulfills the bail conditions.
