Tiwa And Ice Prince To Perform At BET Awards 2014

Nigerian entertainers are really getting recognized globally for their talents and showmanship. BET awards organizers have announced that Nigerian duo Tiwa Savage and Ice Prince will perform in this year's award scheduled to hold on the 29th of June live at the Nokia Theater in Los Angeles. 
This would be a welcome back for Ice Prince after he won last year's BET Best International act Africa after failing to win two years back, Meanwhile this is Tiwa's first nomination.

Also scheduled to perform are South African duo Mafikizolo and Ghanaian hip hop artist Sarkodie will perform too with their Nigerian counterparts.Tiwa, Sarkodie and Mafikizolo where nominated for the BET Best International act Africa 2014 and their perfomance has been tagged as “Music Around the Globe” presentation on Saturday 28 June. 

Daily trust reports that the Organizers have billed Ice Prince to present this year's award for 'Best African Act'.
The award will be held at the Nokia Theatre Los Angeles come Friday June 27-29th, and the main night will be the 29th.
Chris Rock will host this years award, He was revealed as the host on May 14 during the network's 106 & Park music video countdown show.

Rick Ross & Young Jeezy Fight At BET Awards

A fight broke out backstage at the BET Hip Hop Awards tonight between Rick Ross and Young Jeezy that resulted in shots being fired . According to our sources, Ross and Jeezy exchanged words backstage and started pushing and shoving each other. 

We're told BET security and bodyguards for each of the rappers eventually separated the two. Our sources on the scene say that after the fight had been broken up, a member of Rick Ross' entourage pulled out a gun while in the parking lot and shots were fired.We're told Jeezy and Ross are still at the awards, which are being taped tonight in Atlanta and air next month.

 A spokesperson for the Atlanta Police Department tells TMZ, "Shortly after 7:15 pm Saturday, a fight broke out in the parking lot at the Atlanta Civic Center (where the BET Awards were being taped) between two groups. 

Atlanta Police Department officers on scene responded to break up the fight and used OC spray in the process. Individuals fled the scene. There were no arrests or reports of serious injuries. Reports of shots fired appear to be untrue." Our sources maintain shots were fired.We're also told that 50 Cent got into it with a rapper named Gunplay, a protégé of Rick Ross

BET Hip Hop Awards 2012: Kanye West Dominates With 17 Nominations(FULL LIST)

BET has announced the nominations for the 2012 BET Hip Hop Awards.

Kanye West leads the pack with 17 nods including Best Hip Hop Video, Best Live Performer and Lyricist of the Year. Atlanta rapper 2 Chainz is nominated in 13 categories, including Best Hip Hop Video, MVP oF the Year and Track of the Year.

The event takes place in Atlanta on Saturday, September 29, 2012. It will air on October 9.

Mike Epps is back again as host of the event. This marks the fourth time the comedian will take on that role.

Nigerian pop star Wizkid has added yet another feather to his already crowded cap Fresh from an amazing performance at the EME UK tour, which was rated world class, the best selling musician was announced winner of the Best International act (Africa) at the BET awards in New York on Sunday July 1, 2012 beating heavy weights Camp Mulla (Kenya), Ice Prince (Nigeria), Lira (South Africa) and Mokobe (Mali) .

Justin Bieber denied from performing in the BET Cypher

Justin Bieber was reportedly denied from participating in the 2011 BET Cypher because he wanted another rapper to write his verse.

The pop star has been slowing trying his hand at rap for a while now, and DJ Premier was open to the idea of him performing until he found out that Justin was banking on Ludacris writing his verse for him.

Justin Bieber even asked if he could do the cypher.

"Everybody was worried that I might mess of the integrity of BET. I was like yo, as long as he got a dope rhyme, let him spit.’ But then we heard, oh, he wants Luda to write his rhyme.’ I was like ‘Oh, no, no, no, no, no. If you ain’t writing your own rhyme you can’t do it.’ So Justin got to take a back seat. Write your own rhymes, honey.”

Since the story hit the net DJ Premier took to his twitter to clear things up, stating “The only funny part about the Bieber thang is that I can’t “ban” nobody…it aint my Award Show…I know how media plays so I won’t trip.”
