Lagos state shuts DSTV Office over unpaid N150 million tax
over unremitted tax of about N150 million.Special Adviser to the Lagos state governor on Taxation and Revenue, Bola Shodipo who confirmed the closure said that the action was carried out to make the outfit fulfill its obligation to the government.
Mr Shodipo who expressed displeasure at the rampant indebtedness of organisations in taxes said there were undermining the revenue generation drive of the government.He said the State Government would pursue companies who failed to voluntarily honour the payment of their tax bills, to make them comply.
The Special Assistant, however, said that discussions were going on between the government and officials of Multi Choice over the issue, saying the government might consider early re-opening of the office if the tax was remitted.
